XM Announces Expanded Nashville Studio Presence

XM held a party in Nashville Monday night to announce its expanded presence in Nashville. According to Joyce Rizer, Executive Producer of Country for XM, the event was held in the Rotunda of the Country Music Hall of Fame. Just over 200 guests attended, including label heads Joe Galante, Tim Dubois and John Grady and artists Charlie Daniels, Mark Chesnutt, Doug Stone and Miranda Lambert.
All invited guests received a complimentary XM MyFi.

XM announced it will add two new studios to its existing space in the Country Music Hall of Fame and Museum, located in Nashville. Construction for the studio expansion is set to begin later this year.

“XM has always had a deep commitment to country music and the city of Nashville, and we’re proud to be increasing that commitment with this major expansion of our studios at the Country Music Hall of Fame,” said XM’s Executive Vice President of Programming Eric Logan. “Looking ahead, we are particularly excited to be working with some of the most important artists in the industry on our upcoming slate of exclusive country music specials.”

The announcement of XM’s Nashville studio expansion comes prior to the debut of new original country music programs, featuring some of the industry’s most accomplished performers, including Shania Twain, Reba McEntire, Bill Anderson, Marty Stuart and Brad Paisley.

Shania Twain will host and narrate a six-part series that chronicles her life and music from a young girl in Ontario to her rise to mega-stardom in the 1990s. The Shania Twain series will debut on XM in summer 2005.

“I am very excited that my music and career will be showcased on XM this summer,” said Twain. “Through the years I have always tried to find new ways to present my music and my story to my fans. I'm excited to explore this long-form interview concept and bring something unique and different to the table with this 6-part series on XM.”

Also this summer, XM will present “The Long Haul: The History of Modern Country Music.” Hosted by Bill Anderson, Marty Stuart and Brad Paisley, “The Long Haul” will play every available song that reached the Top 30 country music charts from 1940 through 2004.

In early fall 2005, XM will honor Reba McEntire, broadcasting a complete musical retrospective of her career. XM will play every Reba McEntire record leading up to the release of her new album, also premiering on XM.

Whirlpool Sponsored Reba Tour Kicks Off April 15

I'm thrilled that I'm able to team up again with these two great organizations to spread the word about Habitat and the strong commitment of Whirlpool
Reba McEntire

The 2005 Reba/Habitat for Humanity concert tour sponsored by Whirlpool will kick off April 15 at the Verizon Amphitheater in Virginia Beach, Va. Whirlpool is the largest global sponsor of Habitat for Humanity. Tickets go on sale on Saturday, March 5.
The 2005 concert tour, covering more than two dozen cities before its conclusion this summer, will bring a bigger show to ticket holders and additional support for Habitat for Humanity. The line-up for this year's tour includes country music stars Brad Paisley and Terri Clark, who will tour with Reba at more than 20 concert stops.

Along with raising awareness for Habitat for Humanity through concert stop information booths and messages, the concert tour's ticket sales will provide a boost to the organization. One dollar from each ticket sold will go to support Habitat for Humanity.

"The ongoing support of Reba McEntire and Whirlpool are key factors to Habitat's continued success and growth," said Paul Leonard, chief executive officer of Habitat for Humanity International. "We look forward to building upon this strong partnership with the 2005 concert tour."

"I'm thrilled that I'm able to team up again with these two great organizations to spread the word about Habitat and the strong commitment of Whirlpool," said country music star Reba McEntire. "This year, I hope more people will join us to help Habitat, not only at the concert stops, but through involvement with Habitat."

Whirlpool sponsorship of the Reba/Habitat for Humanity concert tour is only one component of Whirlpool's ongoing partnership with Habitat for Humanity. As a part of the More Than Houses campaign, Whirlpool donates a refrigerator and range to every Habitat home built in North America. Whirlpool's donations reach beyond appliances, with more than 3,500 Whirlpool employees donating their time and skills to Habitat builds in their hometown communities. As the single largest philanthropic program in Whirlpool Corporation's nearly 100 year history, the company estimates it has helped more than 28,000 families since launching its partnership with Habitat in 1999.

"Across the board, our employees are extremely committed to our ongoing relationship with Habitat for Humanity," said David Swift, executive vice president of Whirlpool North America. "From donating materials and time to local builds to supporting the Reba tour, Whirlpool employees around the globe are working toward the Habitat mission of providing families with adequate, decent homes."
