It'll be `Reba' in the afternoon on WB
The WB has picked up syndication rights to Reba, its highest-rated comedy series, and will air two episodes each weekday when it launches its afternoon block next year. The network is abandoning its Kids WB afternoon block and, starting in fall 2006, will program the 3 to 5 p.m. hours for its affiliates.
Reba, which enters its fifth season this fall, will fill the second hour of the afternoon block, which is intended to help affiliates build an audience leading into their local newscasts. It will also give the WB an additional place to promote prime-time programs.
Although the Reba repeats will air on the same network as its new episodes, The WB is paying an extra fee to producer 20th Century Fox TV and Twentieth Television, the studio's syndication arm for syndication rights.
