Reba's Mom To Guest on 'Reba' TV Show

LOS ANGELES, CA Thursday Apr.7.2005 /netmusiccountdown.com/ -- If you ever wondered what the "salt of the earth" looks like, be sure to catch Jackie McEntire's appearance on daughter Reba's sitcom, "Reba," this Friday.

This down-to-earth lady supported her rodeo cowboy husband's dream and nurtured all of her four of children's dreams including her three musical kids, Pake, Suzie and Reba. Jackie was personally responsible for Reba getting her big break back in 1974 when she stopped singer-songwriter, Red Steagall, in the corridor of a hotel in Oklahoma City, and introduced him to Reba, the girl that had sung the National Anthem that night at the National Rodeo finals.

Steagall recalled, "I had heard Reba sing the National Anthem and was impressed, but I hadn't sought her out. Then, Jackie stopped me in the hotel that night and introduced me to Reba. I invited her to come up to a
guitar pull in my room that night and that's when I really discovered how good she could sing." Steagall was responsible for McEntire getting signed to a recording contract and the rest is history.
